Cultural actions and specific measures are what make up the CIMCL laboratory. Each year, long-term collaborations are organised with the University Lumière Lyon 2, the Hospitals, the Colleges of the City, the National High Conservatory of Music and Dance of Lyon, ProQuartet and Auditorium-Orchestre national de Lyon. They enable the competition to implement educational, scientific and civic actions.

The quartets taking part in the competition are rehearsing "under the open sky". It's a way of discovering their work of sonic goldsmithery, the very last adjustments before the ordeal of the stage.
For visitors to the Museum, it's a step aside, an impromptu immersion in the quartet's musical universe. For the CIMCL public, it's a further step, an invitation to discover the surprising and poetic collections of the macLYON and to witness the work, usually hidden, of the quartets.

VIDEO REPLAY OF CELLO DAY 2022
REPORT
In the end, 230 participants, 28 teachers and 25 schools responded to the call for proposals. Symbolic artists such as Anne Gastinel, Emmanuelle Bertrand, Guillaume Latil, Roland Pidoux, Marc Coppey and Edouard Sapey-Triomphe, as well as musicians from the National Orchestra and the Lyon Opera agreed to take part in Cello Day which largely contributed to the event's appeal. The programme was structured around a visit from Jian Wang, a famous Chinese cellist, who would perform in concert with the Lyon Orchestra that evening.
The Lyon Conservatory hosted the morning activities, and the afternoon activities were held at the Auditorium. Nearly 3,000 visitors were tallied throughout the day.
The event was indeed a major educational achievement, bringing together and motivating the conservatories' different cello classes. The prospect of sharing the stage with leading artists, the chance to take part in a prestigious event at the Lyon Auditorium, and of course the special opportunity to feel part of a community made the event a great success.
In collaboration with l’Auditorium-Orchestre national de Lyon, le Conservatoire à rayonnement régional and l'Atelier de lutherie Alexandre Snitkovski

Musical performances for young children
This morning, when Mr. Penguin woke up, winter had disappeared. What a disaster! Along with his friend Cello, they decide to find out where it went. They set off on a wild adventure that will lead them through the four seasons.
Artistic and cultural discovery for little ones (0-6 years)
Each session is an opportunity to dive into the sensory worlds of the seasons. Create bird song and mimic the blossoming of spring, hear the sound of the waves, make the autumn rain echo and imitate frogs, and when winter sets in, shiver with cold and warm up by the fire.
Our connection with nature, friendship and music is evoked through the four seasons.
These sessions are a journey through sound and body, with careful listening, songs, nursery rhymes, dancing, finger play and musical games. Children are encouraged to imitate sounds, try out instruments, play using their body, discover their voice, develop attentive listening, creativity and body language.
As for the cello, which conjures up raindrops echoing through its soundboard, birdsong that it in the high notes and waves rippling across its strings, various playing techniques of this beautiful instrument will combine with the tones of the singing voice.
With Lila Jeunet, cello and Nolwenn Guéhenneux, voice.
