Trio Pantoum

Paris

Founded in 2016, the Trio Pantoum has been victorious at the Trieste, Weimar and Illzach competitions. They have studied with the Trio Wanderer, Quatuor Ebène, Claire Désert, François Salque, Hatto Beyerle, Patrick Jüdt, Johannes Meissl, Günter Pichler, Irvine Arditti, Antonio Meneses, Corina Belcea, Miguel Da Silva, at the European Chamber Music Academy, Proquartet Paris and at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium). In 2023, the Trio was selected for the Melbourne Competition.

Hugo Meder plays an 1889 Gand & Bernardel violin.

Bo-Geun Park plays an 1865 Ex-Navarra cello by Auguste-Sébastien-Philippe Bernardel on loan from the Zilber-Vatelot-Rampal Foundation.

Trio Bohémo

Budapest

Trio Bohémo was founded in 2019. The members of the ensemble are Jan Vojtek, piano, Matouš Pěruška, violin and Kristina Vocetková, cello. In 2019 the trio has been selected to join the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, which later awarded them Prize for the ensemble of the year 2021. In September 2021, the trio won the first prize and the prize of the audience at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria and in October 2021, they won the International Parkhouse Award in London, UK. They were invited for the 2022 Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme and in February 2022 the trio was guest of the BBC Radio 3 In Tune show. In March 2022 the trio won first prize and prize for the best interpretation of S. Vainiunas composition at the International Stasys Vainiunas Chamber Music Competition in Vilnius, Lithuania. Only a week later they were awarded second prize (with no first prize awarded) and prize for the best performance of contemporary piece at the International Joseph Joachim Competition in Weimar, Germany. In the summer 2022 the trio was awarded the Piano Chamber Music Award for the best chamber music group with piano at the ISA Festival in Austria.

The highlights of the 2022/2023 season include recitals in Wigmore Hall (London), Stoller Hall (Manchester), Solti Hall (Budapest) and appearances at festivals such as Classix Festival (Romania) or Shaldon Festival (UK). The trio will perform in various European countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy or United Kingdom.

Trio Jasper

The Jasper Trio was founded in 2021 in Hannover, Germany, and coached by Professors such as K. Wegrzyn, B. Goetzke, M. Becker and J. P. Maintz. It has also received further encouragement by S. Accardo, O. Wille or the Artemis Quartet.
The three experienced chamber musicians have already performed in various formations on international stages in Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Korea, China and the USA. They have been selected as a Semifinalist at the International Chamber Music Competition “Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne” in Graz in 2022 and gain regular support with scholarships from institutions like the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, the Werner Richard - Dr.Carl Doerken Stiftung, the Humboldt Foundation in Berlin and other foundations which give them the opportunity to play at great concert halls.
Yuliia Van plays on a violin made by Andreas Postacchini from 1820 that she received from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and David Martín performs on a cello made by Francesco Guadagnini from 1888 that has been offered by the Francesco Geminiani Foundation in Italy.

Trio Astatine

London

Formed at the Royal College of Music in 2021, the Astatine Trio were unanimously awarded First Prize at the 2022 Senior Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition (London, UK) as the youngest entrants, with an average age of 18. In the same year they also won the First Prize and Luigi Boccherini Prize of the International Virtuoso & Belcanto Chamber Competition (Lucca, Italy) and the First Prize of the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition.

In July 2022 the trio were selected by the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival for a public masterclass with Alfred Brendel, after which they were invited by the legendary artist to undertake private study with him. They were also chosen as one of four groups participating in ChamberStudio’s Hans Keller Forum for 2022/23, receiving mentoring from Alasdair Beatson, John Myerscough and Richard Ireland. They also benefit from working regularly with Prach Boondiskulchok.

The trio regularly perform in the UK and abroad, making their Wigmore Hall debut in May 2022. They are grateful for the support of Maggie Grimsdell (Music at Longhill Road), the Nicholas Boas Trust, the Piano Trio Society and Phlipp Carne.

Trio Arabesque

Zürich

The Arabesque Trio was formed in 2022 by the pianist Anna Pismak, violinist Ludwig Balser and cellist Jonathan Reuveni, all members of the orchestra academy of the Zurich Opera and students of the University of Performing Arts Zurich.
The piano trio is extensively working with the leading musicians, including the first concertmaster of the Tonhalle Zurich – Andreas Janke, the deputy head of the music department of the Zurich University of the Arts – Cobus Swanepoel and solo-cellist of the Opernhaus Zurich – Claudius Herrmann. The trio has performed in various halls around multiple cities, including Zurich, Hamburg, Mannheim, Heidelberg and Winterthur. The repertoire of the ensemble encompasses all epochs from Barock to contemporary music.

Trio Ex

Berlin

Ex Trio was founded in 2022 by Mayu Tomotaki (violin), Hideaki Fujiwara (cello), and Kiana Reid (piano). Although it is a relatively newly formed group, Kiana and Hideaki have been playing together for many years and Hideaki and Mayu also played together in a string quartet. Hideaki played with Kiana at the 21st Okiden Sugarhall Competition and won the Grand Prize. At the same time, Kiana was awarded the Special Prize for Best Accompaniment. They had their début concert as a piano trio at the Hans Eisler school of music and are willing to expand their career. The musicians are studying in Berlin under the tutelage of Prof. Vineta Sareika at the University of the Arts Berlin.

Trio Chagall

Torino

Trio Chagall has recently gained the attention of the musical milieu as a winner of the Second overall Prize (First Prize not awarded) at the 20th edition of the Premio “Trio di Trieste”, where it was also given the special prizes “Dario de Rosa” for best performance of a piece by Schumann, “Fernanda Selvaggio” for best Trio of the competition and “Young award” as most promising ensemble finalist. With an average age of 20 years, the Trio is the youngest chamber group ever awarded in the history of the competition

These are only the latest in a series of successes for Trio Chagall, which include the 1st overall prize of the chamber music category at the Amadeus Factory competition (2018) – the first talent designed for young artists of the Italian Conservatories – and the numerous accomplishments at the Concorso di Giussano in 2019, where the Trio was awarded the 1st overall prize, the special prize “Il Progresso”, the prize “Città di Giussano”, presented to the best contestants of all the categories. Trio Chagall has become a member of Le Dimore del Quartetto since June 2019.

Trio Chagall was founded in 2013 by Lorenzo Nguyen (piano), Edoardo Grieco (violin) and Francesco Massimino (cello) within the Conservatory of Music “G.Verdi” of Turin. The name of the Trio is intended as a tribute to the famous painter Marc Chagall, who has always been a deep source of inspiration has always been admired for his ties to music and his strong expressive power through the use of colour.

Trio Parhélie

Created in 2020 by students of the CNSMD of Lyon, the Trio's first concerts were performed at the Théâtre des Célestins in partnership with the Lyon Underground Opera.

The Parhélie Trio has developed under the teaching of Yovan Markovitch, Anne Gastinel, David Selig, Luc-Marie Aguera and has participated in masterclasses by Pierre Colombet and Thomas Hoppe.

In 2022 they enrolled in the Masters of Chamber Music at the CNSMD of Lyon and had the opportunity to play Beethoven's Triple Concerto.

Enguerrand Bontoux plays on a Bernardel Père cello, on loan from the Rosoor family, at the initiative of the Talents & Violin'celles endowment fund.

Trio Brontë

Berlin

Trio Brontë is a recently formed ensemble consisting of Ava Bahari (violin), Annie Jacobs-Perkins (cello), and Lili Bogdanova (piano). They met in Berlin and study at the Hanns Eisler School of Music. As soloists and chamber musicians all three members have enjoyed great success, performing across Europe, Asia, and North America in venues such as the Seoul Arts Center, Carnegie Hall, the Library of Congress, Tokyo Metropolitan Theater and Konzerthaus Berlin. Trio Brontë studies with pianist Jonathan Aner and has taken masterclasses with Kolja Blacher and Eldar Nebolsin. They have performed in different venues in Berlin and are looking forward to upcoming engagements across Germany (Kunsthaus Salzwedel; Musikinstrumentenmuseum, Berlin etc.). In March of 2023 they will participate in the Ilmari Hannikainen International Piano Chamber Music Competition in Finland.   

Trio Havisham

London

Trio Havisham is an award-winning ensemble founded by Zany Denyer and Magdalena Riedl at the Royal Northern College of Music in June 2018, with Fangning Dong joining in September 2021.

To date they have won the RNCM’s Hirsch prize and they later went on to win the 1st prize at the CAVATINA Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition held at Wigmore Hall in May 2022. Of the trio’s performance, adjudicator Roger Wright remarked that ‘they drew you into the performance, and at the same time blew you away’. More recently, in June 2022 they won the 1st prize at the Christopher Rowland Ensemble of the Year Competition, and in November 2022, Trio Havisham reached the finals of the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Festival. They recently successfully auditioned for the Tunnell Trust, and will be a part of their roster of artists for the 2023-2024 season.

They have had the pleasure of performing recitals regularly at concert series’ and festivals including the Tattenhall Music Society, Buxton Opera House Coffee Concerts, the Connect Chamber Music Festival in Manchester, Conway Hall in London, the Lake District Concert Society in Ambleside, and in Liverpool at Crosby Hall.

The trio are grateful to have performed in masterclasses and received mentoring from eminent chamber musicians including Petr Prause (Talich Quartet), Fanny Robilliard, Louis Rodde & Paloma Kouider (Trio Karènine), Donald Grant (Elias String Quartet), Wu Qian (Sitkovetsky Trio), Michael Dussek, Jeremy Young, Leonard Elschenbroich, Hannah Roberts, Yair Kless, So-Ock Kim, Henk Guittart, and the Gould Piano Trio.
